Default Scheduling Environment
Your default starting point is a copy of the previous year’s schedule. If you would like to change your starting point, please contact support and we will get you set up!
Here is a description of your options:
Start From a Copy
This is the default setup. You have the same courses, sections, and staff as last year. Sections are assigned to the same teachers, and are scheduled in the same periods. This option would be best if you:
want to apply new course requests to last year's schedule
want to build on existing strengths from last year's schedule
would generally be making small changes to portions of last year's schedule
Start With Unplaced Sections
All of your sections from last year's schedule exist but are unplaced (i.e. no longer associated with a period). Schedulers will be able to place all sections using fresh data and Abl analytics to select optimal placements. This option would be best if you:
want to revamp last year's schedule and/or focus on particular student subgroups
would be making major changes to how and when your sections are scheduled
want to take the time to place sections to maximize fulfilling course requests
