Update a Course in the Data Manager

In the Abl Scheduler, you will find the Data Manager. This tool will allow you to make changes to your courses for the following attributes.

  • Active/Inactive

  • Subject Area

  • Core/Non-core 

  • Section Capacity

Please note, while you are able to modify more than the listed attributes, DO NOT change the Course Name or Credits. Those attributes should only be changed within your SIS and those changes will be pushed to the Abl Scheduler during the daily sync.  

When deactivating a course, all other scheduling information associated with that course will be deleted and cannot be recovered. The Abl Scheduler will display a dialog informing schedulers about what data will be lost to help ensure that courses are not deactivated by mistake.

In addition to modifying these attributes one by one within the Data Manager, you can also bulk edit Subject Areas by simply checking the courses you wish to edit and clicking the "Bulk Edit" button at the top right. This will allow you to modify the Subject Area for multiple courses.

While the bulk edit allows for modifying the Department, we suggest you do not change this value in the Abl Scheduler as it does not affect any of the filtering that you would need for courses.
