What’s the best way to record my class?

While TeachFX is available from both a web browser and app, we recommend using a mobile device to record the audio of your class.

Here are a few ways to try to get the best possible audio from your device:

  • Keep your recording device near the center of your classroom, with the microphone pointing in the direction of students. Since the teacher's voice is usually picked up clearly, this helps ensure that student voices are prioritized.

  • If using a mobile phone, keep the phone in your pocket with the microphone pointing up. This is particularly helpful if you move around the classroom and want to keep the microphone near your position in the room.

  • Move the recording device near the part of the room where you would like to focus your class report. If students are working in groups, it can be helpful to place the microphone nearest the students you would like to hear most clearly.
